Our women’s peace procession this year promotes awareness of the major ingredients of peace through the messages they all carry in their flags - equality, freedom, diversity, respect, peace and communication. This year is poignant with the impact on women and children of the Ukraine.

Chantry Primary Academy
The children studied Africa in school, in particular, Ethiopia and Eritrea. The costumes represent how united Africa is and how this relates to the unity of the wider world. This entry has been supported by UKCCA’s National Children’s Carnival Week schools’ programme.

Luton Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Care Forum
‘Peace in our Times’ – Across cultures, the dove represents purity, gentleness, devotion, beauty, and faith. On an international level, the peace dove represents hope and peace. This resonates across religions and cultures. Many of our members come from countries that have been affected by conflict, mainly African and Caribbean countries where sickle cell is predominant. We hope that those affected by sickle cell and Thalassaemia will find a piece that will give them hope for the future.

OM Group is a Luton based charity that aims to unite the community through social, sporting, educational and cultural events.
Paraíso School of Samba
Closely follows the authentic Brazilian School of Samba with all its main cultural elements. They are the only organisation in the UK whose artistic direction is by artists who grew up in the Rio de Janeiro samba community.

Tokko Youth Space & Pride In Luton
Luton Pride a celebration of Luton’s LGBTQ+ community.
Tokko Youth Space's OK2B group, accompanied by the newly formed Pride In Luton, made their first appearance at Carnival. Young members of OK2B worked with UK Centre for Carnival Arts (UKCCA) to design and make costumes representing the LGBTQ+ community showcasing them in Carnival and preparing a second showcase in Luton's first Pride event on the 25th of June 2022.
