Steven Hoyte
I am based in Luton and have worked full-time in the field of Carnival Arts since 1999 and designing costumes for Rampage Mas Band production team since 2002
Back in 2009 I had the opportunity to work in Trinidad with international artist Stephen Derek building a costume that crossed the Savannah, the most famous carnival stage in the world, alongside Colin Spalding.
With my technical understanding of mechanical things, I have excelled in the areas of frame building and wire bending, delivered countless numbers of workshops both nationally and internationally, working extensively with schools and community groups who can utilise their unique skills to enhance their own art forms and end products.
My success is amongst community groups and carnival bands, winning numerous awards, trophies by producing high quality mas costumes.
In my passion for carnival and celebratory talent, I see my art form as the key to enhancing community spirit that covers all abilities, age and backgrounds. My success is displayed in the form of winning numerous awards, trophies producing high quality mas costumes for my band ‘Rampage Mas Band’
